Every device will have some small faults after long use, but don’t worry that if we deal with the faults in time, we won’t damage the electrostatic discharge generator. However, we should also note that it is not enough to solve the fault. In daily life, we should also carry out more maintenance on the electrostatic discharge generator to prevent the occurrence of faults. Today, I will first tell you about the solutions to some common problems of the electrostatic discharge generator
Problem 1: the electrostatic discharge generator cannot be turned on
Answer: in case of failure to start the machine, the customer need not be too nervous. This phenomenon is not necessarily due to the machine failure.
(1) Check whether the incoming line at the power end has normal voltage input; Use a multimeter to measure whether the power line inserted into the machine power interface is AC 220V. If there is no voltage, it indicates that the plug-in board or power line is damaged, and the corresponding damaged parts can be replaced.
(2) Check whether the voltage interface fuse is burnt; In order to protect the instrument from being damaged by large current, our electrostatic discharge generator has a 3A fuse embedded in the outlet of the voltage interface. Take out the fuse with a slotted screwdriver, and then use a multimeter to measure whether both ends of the fuse are connected. If it cannot be connected, it means that the fuse is burned, and we can replace it with the fuse we send with us.
(3) Check the machine model. The high-voltage discharge terminals of esd-202a and esd-203a adopt knob interfaces. In order to ensure good interface contact, automatic diagnosis function is built in. If the high-voltage interface terminal is in poor contact, the automatic protection function will prevent the user from starting up. The solution to this situation is to take out the high-voltage port and re insert it.
(4) If the above steps are all right, there may be internal module or internal circuit failure. In this case, please contact the after-sales department of the seller, and we will repair the machine. The customer must remember not to disassemble the machine by himself. The electrostatic discharge generator is a precision instrument, and once it is wrongly repaired, it will be irreparable.
Problem 2: no output of high voltage of electrostatic discharge generator
Answer: whether the high voltage has output cannot be simply based on whether the gun head has spark
(1) The electrostatic gun can only observe electric sparks when air discharge (gap discharge), and there is no electric spark when contact discharge
(2) Generally, the electrostatic gun can produce electric sparks that can be observed by the naked eye at 6K. Try to use high voltage when measuring, such as 10K; 15K
(3) Do not use the gun head to detect the vertical coupling plate or horizontal coupling plate, or even the tested product. We judge whether there is high voltage output, and use the gun head to discharge air against the cable return wire (grounding clamp) of the electrostatic discharge generator
(4) If the above steps are all right, it may be the internal high-voltage source or internal circuit failure of the instrument. In this case, please contact the after-sales department of the seller, and we will repair the machine. The customer must remember not to disassemble the machine by himself. The electrostatic discharge generator is a precision instrument, and once it is wrongly repaired, it will cause irreparable situation.
Problem 3: there is obvious spark when discharging towards the cable return wire (grounding clamp), and there is no spark when discharging towards the horizontal coupling plate or the vertical coupling plate.
Answer: generally, the resistance wire connecting the horizontal coupling board / vertical coupling board is burned, or the reference floor is in poor contact.
(1) Use the resistance gear 2m Ω of the multimeter to measure the connecting resistance wire. If the resistance value is infinite, the resistance wire in the manual has been burned. Please contact the seller to buy a new resistance connecting wire; If the resistance value is about 1m Ω, the resistance wire is normal.
(2) The reference floor is composed of three aluminum plates. Use the multimeter resistance to test the direct conduction of each aluminum plate. If it can be connected, it indicates that it is normal. If it cannot be connected, there is a problem with the direct connection of the aluminum plate. Use the connecting tape we distribute to paste it again.
Question 4: the floor area of the electrostatic test bench is too large. Can it be avoided
Answer: the electrostatic test bench is to provide a standard test environment for electrostatic discharge generators. We found that the test results of some tested products with or without a test bench are indeed not different, but this does not prove that the electrostatic test bench is worthless. The national standard clearly stipulates that if the customer only uses the instrument and does not use the test bench, the measurement results may be inaccurate, and the resulting loss is far greater than the cost of the electrostatic test bench.
